Founded in 1901, Golden Gate University (GGU) School of Law was San Francisco’s first law school. With offerings like evening law school, GGU established early on a tradition of providing legal education for working professionals. For decades, GGU’s Law School has been fully accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA) and has focused on practical legal training. For example, GGU has been recognized for its highly regarded litigation center and Summer Trial and Evidence Program (1st STEP), as well as clinics and externships in environmental law, veterans’ advocacy, and employment rights. More recently, GGU has shifted its focus toward international business degrees. Although the university no longer accepts new students into its JD program, GGU Law continues to provide graduate law programs. GGU Law’s graduate programs include the LLM in Taxation thorough its Braden School of Taxation, the largest and among the most respected graduate tax programs in the United States. GGU also offers programs leading to a Master of Law Studies (MLS); a Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD, the highest research-based law degree); and other LLM programs for professionals not pursuing a JD.

- The publishing profession has undergone vast changes with the advent of technology. Independent Publications is a web page dedicated to promoting independent writing and other creative works, mine included.
- Like many familiar institutions, the education system has recently undergone an unprecedented transformation. Education Reform is the working title of a book tracking these changes. No website yet, but please stay tuned.
